Announcing: social.radqueer.net

radqueer.net is getting a new feature: social media! A bit late to the party, but in an attempt to create a platform that won't go down, I am throwing my hat into the microblog race, with a few big differences than other fedi instances.

To make us less likely to go down, we are implementing these security measures:

  1. No federation. This may seem like an odd choice, but as cool as federation is, it has many risks involved.
  2. No NSFW graphical media. Legal porn depicting illegal scenarios has been known to cause instances to go down in the past, so for good measure and the spirit of fairness, no NSFW graphical media is allowed at all.
  3. Approved sign ups. There are virtually no pedi sites where sign up is open, which is what we're doing as well, though to promote anyone being able to join, it will not be limited to invite only. Anyone can sign up, but only those with good applications will be approved.
  4. Private timeline. Like other pedi instances, posts can only be viewed if you are signed in. However, unlike others, it cannot be bypassed by simply using another instance, as there is no federation.

radqueer.net has a zero tolerance policy for illegal media, hate speech, and anything anti radqueer. We allow all contact stances and allow for civil discussion of it, and we support all transids, along with support for traditional queer identities, disabled beings, people of color, the neurodiverse, etc.

social.radqueer.net is still in its infancy, so please be patient if things aren't working 100%, and if so, then please contact me and let me know what's wrong.
